A smooth surface makes it easier to apply make-up and enhances the finish. Can you use the lip gloss over lipstick? Yes, you can apply the lip gloss over your lipstick, for extra shine and volume. Apply a small amount, focusing on the centre of the lips, to create a fuller look and prevent smudging. Remember that if you apply it over a matte lipstick, it may reduce its hold.
